Frontera Financial
Incredibly, this rapidly growing (but young) company didn’t have a web presence! It’s not often that we get approached with a blank canvas where we can create, strategize and develop from scratch. DT Media was approached by Frontera to plan and execute every facet of their online business. From the branding and logo concepts to the marketing and web development, we were happy to be there for Frontera and bring to life an incredible final product. Frontera, being a company that provides insurance products for various brokers and customers across Canada, was looking to develop a website that reflected their professionalism and dedication to their clients.
The Challenge:
They needed to develop a brand that would allow them to be recognized as a key player within the highly competitive insurance industry. Having to appeal to two completely different clients, both brokers and customers, we had our work cut out for us.
Along with the aesthetics the site needed to function, Frontera was looking for a way to track the referrals that were happening between their partnering mortgage brokers and life insurance brokers and allow the two parties to communicate and receive updates regarding the status of their clients’ applications. Since clients would be filling out online applications, a secure and safe environment was needed to ensure that protection of sensitive client data.
Frontera’s administrators also required full access to the sites information where they could login and check up on the status of the applications within the system.
The Solution:
Brand Development:
Since Frontera works with both customers and brokers, they desired branding that was differently for both user groups. They also wanted to carry strong consistencies between the two styles. DT Media re-evaluated the existing branding and developed a new strategy that pushed the Fronteras digital appearance into the 21st century.
Strategy and Planning:
Frontera’s desires were very specific and custom tailored to their needs. They required a system that would allow brokers to recommend their clients to the system and keep track of the relationships between them and the brokers who were receiving the applications. DT Media built an internal system called TRAK that allows clients to fill out applications and submit them to another broker in the system. All parties receive updates when the status of the application changes.
DT Media also created a system that was modular, allowing other insurance agencies to receive data outputs from the TRAK system in real time. Thus, streamlining the approval process and bringing a response to the client is much faster.
Development:
To facilitate trouble free management of the site, a completely custom tailored admin interface was integrated into the site’s backend allowing administrators a view into powerful statistics. The system was built using the Cakephp rapid development framework. Cakephp is a modular based development framework, which allows the client to integrate new feature quickly and easily.
The Results:
With their new system up and running, Frontera Financial is meeting their goals and swiftly growing toward becoming a leader in the insurance industry. With this website, Frontera has successfully created an online hub where brokers and customers can meet in a secure environment, exchange information and fulfill insurance products.
